GET TO KNOW BRIDGET
What do you do for fun?
Living in the Virginia Blue Ridge, I love to grow vegetables, mountain bike, rock climb, and go on hikes with my two hound dogs.
What originally drew you to cities?
I’ve lived in all kinds of communities, from the rural town of Yungaburra, Queensland, Australia (population 1,272) to the City of Chicago. I strongly believe that cities tie communities of all kinds together, providing an incredible energy culminating from shared new ideas, new experiences, new artforms, and new foods to try. There is a buzz to cities that draws people in.
What gets you up in the morning?
In truth, it is my dogs letting me know it is time to go outside - but philosophically, it is that each day is a gift in which I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to make it a better place for future generations.
What is your favorite quote?
“Our most valuable possessions are those which can be shared without lessening: those which, when shared, multiply. Our least valuable possessions are those which, when divided, are diminished.” - William H. Danforth
