Translink RideLink MaaS Pilot Evaluation and Scaling Strategic Advisory

Mobility as a Service (MaaS) integrates a multitude of transportation services into a single, comprehensive, and on-demand digital platform offering customers the added value of accessing mobility through a single application and a single payment channel. Many transit authorities around the world integrate digital solutions for customers to plan, book, and pay for multi-modal mobility trips. In 2024, TransLink initiated a MaaS pilot - RideLink - to advance regional sustainability goals.

Method

Cityfi, and partners at UrbanismNext, were retained to help executive leadership at TransLink evaluate the success of the RideLink pilot as measured against key performance indicators (KPIs). The evaluation set the stage for a subsequent multi-stakeholder process to develop a long-term strategy for the integration of increasing digitalization of customer access to public transit and shared mobility services, such as car sharing, micromobility and other emerging technologies.

Cityfi, and affiliates, helped TransLink identify key performance metrics and then analyzed survey data and trip data from ~1,000 participants against these KPIs to measure the success of the pilot relative to regional goals. Under an additional contract scope, Cityfi Affiliate advised TransLink on recommended strategies to scale the pilot for long term implementation.
